Two males are accused of robbing a Greenburgh retailer at gunpoint.

GREENBURGH – New particulars have emerged concerning the armed theft of a Greenburgh Verizon Wi-fi retailer that police stated led to a chase and crash and the arrests of two suspects on Tuesday.

New York Metropolis residents Diabel Samb and Mamadou Ndao have been charged with robbing the store in the Midway Shopping Center at 979 S. Central Ave. at gunpoint.

Greenburgh police released these details on the robbery: Police said the Harlem men, one of whom had a gun, entered the store in the Edgemont section around 11 a.m. The pair is accused of forcing the employees to the back of the store and stealing numerous cellphones.

Police said the men fled in a white Jeep Liberty, and police agencies throughout Westchester County were alerted. A county police officer saw the Jeep heading south on the Sprain Brook Parkway and followed it into Mount Vernon, police said.

County police said on Tuesday that the suspects drove onto the Bronx River Parkway, Cross County Parkway and Hutchinson River Parkway, where they got off at Sandford Boulevard and drove into the Bronx before heading into Mount Vernon.

The Jeep and a county police SUV crashed near the intersection of West Seventh Street and South Fifth Avenue in Mount Vernon. County police and Pelham police then took the men into custody after a short foot pursuit, Westchester police said on Tuesday.

Greenburgh police said Mount Vernon police, Yonkers police and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force also helped with the investigation.

Samb, 32, and Ndao, 24, were arraigned Wednesday in Greenburgh Town Court on felony charges of first-degree robbery. They are due back on Tuesday and are being held at the Westchester County jail on $500,000 bail or $1 million bond.

Ndao also had warrants for his arrest in New York City for fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors, jail records show.
