Gomez, a 63-year-old Spring Valley resident, pleaded guilty to manslaughter. He was facing manslaughter and homicide charges.
“The defendant has admitted his guilt and will be held accountable for causing the tragic death of a baby boy who had his entire life before him,” Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe said in a statement.
Gomez is scheduled to be sentenced to 1 1/3 to four years in state prison on Feb. 6 under the plea agreement.
