Smoldering barbeque coals ignite Reseda condo fire, 7 people displaced

Firefighters wanted 14 minutes to knock down a fireplace inside a condominium constructing in Reseda Sunday, in accordance with the Los Angeles Hearth Division.

The hearth at a two-story apartment at 19211 Haynes St. in Reseda was reported at three:forty eight p.m., hearth division spokesman Brian Humphrey stated.

The division dispatched forty three firefighters to the scene and extinguished the hearth, Humphrey stated.

The flames have been confined by firefighters to the kitchen and patio space of a primary flooring unit between the rental and a storage, Humphrey continued.

It was later decided that coals from a earlier night time’s barbeque have been laying towards a flamable fence and ultimately began a fireplace on that fence, Humphrey stated.

Neighbors pulled an aged woman from the condominium after the hearth began and earlier than firefighters arrived, Humphrey added. The hearth displaced seven individuals, together with three adults and 4 youngsters, he added. No accidents have been reported.

The blaze resulted in $forty five,000 loss to the construction and $30,000 loss in contents, Humphrey stated.
