The mysterious story of Robert Durst and his lacking spouse shall be again on TV this weekend when Lifetime premieres a film concerning the case that has confounded police for many years.
“The Misplaced Spouse of Robert Durst,” a TV movie that will air on Lifetime at 8 p.m. Saturday, portrays the marriage of the billionaire Durst and his wife, Kathie, who went missing from their South Salem home in 1982.
Kathie Durst has never been found. Her husband, a Scarsdale native and Manhattan real estate scion, has been the subject of a decades-long investigation into her disappearance, as well as a suspect in two slayings, one of which he is awaiting trial in.

“While Durst is currently in jail awaiting trial for the murder of his close friend, journalist Susan Berman, the questions linger as to what really happened to Kathie,” according to the movie bio on Lifetime’s website.
The movie, which is based on journalist Matt Birkbeck’s book “A Deadly Secret: The Bizarre and Chilling Story of Robert Durst,” “explores what may have happened between him and Kathie,” according to Lifetime.
