A West Covina man who allegedly killed his roommate’s canine by leaping on the diminutive Chihuahua’s head faces as much as three years in county jail if convicted of animal cruelty.

Mark Rivera Rodriguez, 35, has pleaded not responsible to the felony cost stemming from the dying Tuesday of his roommate’s Chihuahua, Alvin, based on the Los Angeles County District Lawyer’s Workplace.
