ONTARIO >> Anticipating what will be the starting of an extended vacation weekend for some, Ontario police will arrange a DUI checkpoint Friday.
The operation will run from 6 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday in an undisclosed location within the metropolis, in accordance with an Ontario Police Division information launch. The division sometimes units up checkpoints at places recognized for collisions and DUI arrests.
“Over the course of the previous three years Ontario PD officers have investigated 616 DUI collisions which have claimed 20 lives and resulted in one other 319 accidents,” based on the information launch.
Individuals may be arrested for a DUI if they’re beneath the affect of marijuana and prescription drugs, the discharge says.
Police may even be checking to see if drivers have legitimate licenses.
