Surveillance video shows a man suspected of using stolen credit cards walk out of a Target at Coconut Point Mall in Estero on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2017.
Authorities are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who they said used stolen credit cards at Coconut Point Mall in Estero earlier this month and made off with purchases totaling hundreds of dollars.
While shopping at Marshall’s at the Gulf Coast Town Center north of Estero on Sunday, a woman received a call from her bank advising her of possible fraudulent charges to her credit cards, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said in a news release Thursday.
The woman realized her wallet had been stolen during her shopping trip and charges showed that someone had used one of her credit cards at the Target store at Coconut Point at 4:41 p.m. that day for purchases totaling $1,536, the release states.
The suspect then tried to use her other cards to make additional purchases in the store but was declined.
Surveillance video shows the suspect walking out of the Target with some of the items he was able to purchase before the cards were shut down, according to Crime Stoppers.
Anyone with information as to the identity and whereabouts of the unidentified man is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). Callers will remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Tips can also be submitted online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or on the P3Tips mobile app.
