EAST CHICAGO — A person advised police he was wounded by gunfire as he rode a bicycle within the metropolis’s Calumet neighborhood.
East Chicago police have been dispatched at 12:07 a.m. Thursday to the 4800 block of Grasselli Road for a capturing, Lt. Marguerite Wilder stated in an e-mail.
Police discovered the person mendacity in an alley, and medics took him to an area hospital for remedy.
On the hospital, the person informed officers he was driving his bicycle west from 148th Road and Euclid Avenue when he heard gunshots within the space of Grasselli, police stated.
