La Crosse police investigating string of suspicious fires


La Crosse police are in search of a suspected arsonist after a string of suspicious fires on the town’s South Aspect.

Prior to now seven weeks, firefighters have responded to seven blazes involving houses, garages and automobiles, in response to police. All have been inside a four-block-by-thirteen-block space between downtown La Crosse, Farnam and Eighth streets, together with two blazes at 609 Fifth Avenue, lower than a block from the Central Hearth Station.

All however one occurred between the hours of three:30 a.m. and 6 a.m.

The Hearth Division has been unable to find out the causes of three further fires, together with a March 7 blaze on the second flooring of a producing enterprise at 1600 Miller St.

In response to police, the suspected arsonist doesn’t carry something to the scenes however lights no matter is available.
