The Texas Division of Felony Justice initially stated forty five prisoners in administrative segregation had begun a starvation strike however TDCJ spokesman Robert Hurst stated Tuesday the quantity stood at 37.
Inmates in administrative segregation are remoted from the overall jail inhabitants as a result of they’re deemed a safety danger or hazard to others.
The inmates collaborating within the starvation strike are housed on the Allred Unit in Iowa Park, outdoors Wichita Falls.
