WEST NYACK — A Haverstraw lady already on a “watch record” stored by Lord & Taylor safety has been arrested for allegedly stealing bins of fragrance from the Palisades Middle mall division retailer, Clarkstown police stated Monday.
Police arrested Ruth Mendez, 29, Saturday on the retailer after safety staff allegedly noticed her swiping three bins of Chanel fragrance valued at $340, Police Officer Peter Walker stated in a information launch.
An investigation discovered she had been arrested on the retailer in November and had signed a press release that she wouldn’t return if she was let go, or danger a trespassing cost, Walker stated.
Walker stated shops generally have individuals accused of theft signal such statements to discourage repeat offenders.
