El Segundo police shoot ax-wielding suspect dead near LAX

A person who allegedly threatened individuals with an ax led El Segundo police on a brief pursuit that ended with the suspect being fatally shot within the Westchester space simply north of Los Angeles Worldwide Airport.

The capturing occurred shortly earlier than 1 p.m. on Manchester Avenue west of Sepulveda Boulevard. Manchester was closed between Kentwood Avenue and Sepulveda Westway to accommodate the investigation, and Airport Police suggested individuals heading for the airport to navigate across the space.

The person, in his 30s, died on the scene, in accordance with the coroner’s workplace. His identify was withheld, pending notification of relations.

“The police division acquired a name of a suspect approaching individuals within the space of McCarthy Courtroom and Imperial (Avenue), wielding an ax or a machete and threatening them,” El Segundo police Capt. Brian Evanski informed KNX Newsradio on the scene of the capturing.

Police responded to the neighborhood and the suspect fled in a white SUV. He apparently acquired out of the SUV on Manchester, the place he was shot. A small ax might be seen on the road simply behind the SUV.
