A San Clemente golf cart driver was out of jail on $50,000 bail Monday after being arrested on suspicion of being drunk and injuring a passenger whereas behind the wheel of his small car on a serious Palm Springs-space golf course.
A fifty nine-yr-previous passenger within the entrance seat was ejected from the golf cart after an alleged unsafe activate a street alongside a PGA West golf course in La Quinta.
The passenger was taken to JFK Memorial Hospital for remedy of accidents not believed to be life-threatening.
The incident happened as rain pelted a lot of the Coachella Valley Sunday afternoon. It wasn’t recognized if the climate was concerned, nor if it was raining on the time.
It occurred about 2:forty p.m. on Oak Tree Boulevard close to a small road named Pete Dye that cuts via the course, stated La Quinta police Sgt. Chris Frederick.
Officers decided the golf cart driver, recognized as forty one-yr-previous Stephen Southam, “made an unsafe turning motion” whereas southbound on Oak Tree Boulevard, Frederick stated.
Southam was booked into the Indio jail on suspicion of DUI, Frederick stated.
Bail was set at $50,000 and Southam was launched Monday, in line with Riverside County Sheriff’s Division inmate data. He’s due in courtroom March 21.
