The detailed probe of a lethal small aircraft crash in rugged terrain of the Angeles Nationwide Forest received beneath method Thursday as authorities publicly recognized the pilot who was killed on his common commute to the Los Angeles space.
Frederick “Matt” Espiau, fifty six, of Tehachapi died on the scene of the crash on Wednesday, stated Craig Harvey of the coroner’s workplace. Espiau was the pilot and proprietor of the airplane, Harvey stated.
A Bakersfield tv station reported that Espiau’s pals in Tehachapi turned fearful when he didn’t return from his regular commute flight from his hometown within the Kern County mountains to the Los Angeles space. It wasn’t clear what Espiau’s career was.
KBAK-TV reported that fellow pilot and pal Ken Hetge stated he would speak over plane radio with Espiau. “It was kind of only a widespread good morning courtesy,” Hetge stated. “He’d inform me how the airplane was operating and I’d inform him what we had on plan for the day and I might see him on his method.”
