A Connecticut man was pulled over in Putnam and found to be in possession of a loaded weapon, New York State Police said.
Alfredo Mendoza, a 21-year-old Kearny, Connecticut, man, was pulled over for traffic violations on Route 6 in Southeast on Tuesday, police said.
During the stop, state troopers detected marijuana and later founded an illegal, loaded handgun.
Mendoza was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a firearm, a felony, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
He was arraigned in Southeast court and remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cass bail or $5,000 bond.
