The TSA “has decided commonplace procedures weren’t adopted and a police officer did in reality cross by way of the (LAX) checkpoint with a firearm,” Melendez stated.
Grant had gone to Taiwan for a trip, and was carrying a private, not a division, weapon, the Day by day Information reported.
“My understanding is she’s capable of transfer about, (however) she can’t depart the nation till the matter is resolved,” Santa Monica police Lt. Saul Rodriguez advised the newspaper on Wednesday.
Rodriguez couldn’t say if she had been arrested or charged with a criminal offense in that nation. He was not out there for remark Thursday.
Requested by the newspaper whether or not the incident might have an effect on Grant’s standing as a police officer, Rodriguez stated it was not but clear.
