A collection of at the least 15 small fires burned alongside the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway early Saturday in Palmdale and Lancaster, and have been probably ignited by a motorist utilizing charcoal briquettes.

The primary hearth was reported shortly after 12:30 a.m. on the southbound aspect of the freeway close to Avenue N, authorities stated. After that, about 10 to fifteen fires have been reported from Avenue Okay to Avenue S, stated Los Angeles County Hearth Division Dispatch Supervisor Ed Pickett.

Witnesses reported that a car was deliberately beginning the hearth utilizing charcoal briquettes, California Freeway Patrol reported.

The most important of the fires burned about two acres, Pickett stated. Greater than 70 firefighters have been despatched to battle the flames.

County firefighters have been capable of put out all of the fires by 2:30 a.m., the CHP reported.
