2 men sentenced in connection with 2013 homicide of Pomona man

POMONA >> Joseph Howard Brooks, 24, one among two males charged with the 2013 killing of a 30-yr-previous man in his Pomona condominium, was sentenced Thursday to 5 years in county jail, in accordance with a Pomona Courthouse clerk.

The opposite man, Raymonn Dontel Benson, 25, was sentenced March eight to thirteen years in state jail.

“Benson pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter and admitted a particular allegation of private use of a firearm through the fee of the crime,” Los Angeles County District Lawyer spokesperson Sarah Ardalani stated in an e mail.

“Brooks pleaded responsible to being an adjunct after the very fact and admitted he was beforehand convicted of second-diploma housebreaking in January 2014 and April 2014,” she continued.

The 2 males had been accused of fatally capturing Darrell Grey in his condominium within the 1600 block of East Kingsley Avenue on April 19, 2013.
