Pima County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two individuals Thursday in connection to interrupt-ins of a number of homes and automobiles on Tucson’s northwest aspect.
Mathew Schreiber, 19, and Sydney Lupo, 21, have been booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of a number of housebreaking costs, stated Deputy Cody Gress, a sheriff’s division spokesman.
Detectives stated Schreiber and Lupo have been boyfriend and girlfriend.
Schreiber faces thirteen counts of housebreaking, possession of a harmful drug and possession of marijuana. Lupo faces 14 counts of housebreaking, Gress stated.
Investigators are working in partnership with the Marana Police Division to find out if Schreiber and Lupo are related to a rash of auto break-ins in Marana, stated Gress.
On Thursday shortly after 5 a.m., deputies responded to the 4700 block of West Snowberry Lane for a report of a theft in progress.
The neighborhood is west of North Thornydale Street and north of West Cortaro Farms Street.
Deputies discovered that a home-owner noticed a person breaking into his automotive and he chased the person away from his home. Throughout a search of the neighborhood, deputies discovered a lady driving a bicycle and discovered that she was concerned within the theft and the person was her boyfriend, Gress stated.
A car that each suspects have been utilizing was discovered within the neighborhood, and the boyfriend was taken into custody close to the car. Deputies discovered gadgets within the car that appeared to have been stolen from residences within the space, stated Gress.
